the pilates lovers gift guide 2024

All the lovely things for the Pilates lover in your life!

Okay, so it’s that time of year again where you don’t know what to buy people!

If there is a Pilates lover in your life then you can thank me now for doing the hard work for you – here are gifts that I recommend split down into low, medium and high budget (depending on how much you love them) 🤣

Firstly, I haven’t included the following in this blog post as I’ve already covered them separately in other blog posts –

Pilates mats for every budget – check out the post HERE.

Grippy Pilates socks – check out the post HERE

Low budget (under £20)

Socks – Sweaty Betty - £12.50 Organic cotton 3 pack – Black

Buy HERE

You can never have too many socks right! These are the perfect length, made of lovely organic cotton, and have support under the arch of the foot.

Fabric resistance bands – Sweaty Betty £12.50 set of 3

Buy HERE

There are SO many things you can do with resistance bands to get a great at home Pilates workout - particularly if you are trying to build glute strength. Varying from light to high resistance, you can build up gradually as you get stronger.

NuActiv Stainless Steel 500ml water bottle - £9.89

Buy HERE

A metal bottle is an eco friendly option, and this is great value for money.

Beenax 9 inch Pilates ball - £7.64

Buy HERE

A Pilates ball is a great inexpensive addition to your Pilates toolkit, and there are SO many things you can do with it to work on building strength and balance and keeping your workouts fresh and interesting!

Beenax Pilates Ring - £14.44

Buy HERE

A Pilates ring is another inexpensive tool you can use to help build strength and challenge your balance. In addition to the Pilates balls and resistance bands we use Pilates rings in my classes and I highly recommend them.

Mid budget (£30-£100)

My Pilates Lab merchandise - £10 to £45

Buy HERE

I can’t say enough good things about this new brand - there are lots of fabulous products for every budget - ranging from mugs, water bottles, phone cases through to t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and bags. The clothing is made from organic cotton - it’s rare to find things that are made from natural materials these days and I think they are good value for high quality products. They do a good selection of colours too - check them out!

Amp Wellbeing Bar Pilates bar weights - £35.00

These come in 5 different colours. They weigh 3kg for the pair (1.5kg each). They can be used to really enhance your Pilates workout, making it more challenging and really helping you to build strength. Whilst they aren’t the cheapest hand weights by any means, they have a great quality to them and feel great to use. They have their own little case to store them in when not being used and in my opinion are worth the extra money for the additional quality and enhanced experience when using them. They come in 5 different colours and there are also heavier options for anyone who really wants to work hard!

Sweaty Betty Leggings - £44.00 to £90.00

Buy HERE

In my humble opinion, you can’t beat Sweaty Betty leggings for Pilates. They have just the right amount of support without feeling like you are being squashed to within an inch of your life! They wash well, and last well and are the most flattering leggings I have found.

High budget (Over £100)

In person Pilates classes pack

Gifting someone a class pack with a local instructor or studio is a great way to gift someone something that is going to really help them. If you are local to Derby you can gift a 10 week Pilates for Beginners course for £90 starting on Thursday 9th Jan. This is for a 60 minute class per week. Get in touch for more details.

Online Pilates sessions

For someone who can’t make the location or time of in person classes, gifting on demand course or membership that can be practiced at any time from the comfort of home, is perfect to fit in around a busy lifestyle. If you would like to, you can gift my new 12 week Pilates for Beginners online course which is available from January and will cost £175. This includes 90 minutes of Pilates content per week and in addition also includes bonus tips videos, Yoga and mindfulness content. Get in touch if you’d like to gift this for someone.

High to huge budget

Pilates Retreat - £125 to £2,000

I’m not recommending any options for this, as I think this is something that would have to be planned with the gift recipient. There are so many retreats out there and I think the person attending would want to choose where they are going, the dates, if it is longer than a day - whether they are prepared to share or want a room to themselves. So this is just sowing the seed of an idea! Varying cost from a one day retreat starting at around £125, to a week abroad likely to cost around £2,000.

Fold reformer bed - £1,899

Buy HERE

Now anyone who loves Pilates dreams about having a Pilates reformer at home. Most of us haven’t got an entire room we can dedicate to our Pilates, and that is why I recommend this reformer – it can be folded and stored away elsewhere. There are cheaper folding reformers that start around £1,000, but I am more sure of the quality of this one as I know they are being used in some studio settings and standing up to the use they receive there, so I think this will last much longer than some of the other options.
